What is Paide house stories ?

"Paide majalood" or "House stories of Paide" is a webpage, where you can find information about old houses in Paide old town: how it looked before on history, when the current house has been built, who lived there, what's going on out there right now, what are the valuable parts of the building, etc.. In time more houses and also other objects or spaces would be added to the page (the squares, wastelands that are waiting for ideas, etc.).

Each House has its own webpage with its QR code, the sticker with that QR code is placed on the window or wall of that house. If you're on your smartphoneqr_mis_on_majaloodinstalled some QR application (free software), then you can by using a camera phone read the QR code placed on the window or wall of that house and use it to look up information about the house in this webpage.

In order to read QR code, download to your smartphone QR code-reading application (for example, the QR Barcode scanner) and then just direct your smartphone's camera to the QR code, to open corresponding webpage on your phone.

Below you will find the map of Paide (interactive and also drawed map), where blue signs mark the houses, on which house story has been created here.

Of course, you can view the house stories also just on the computer.

You can comment house stories – write here about your knowledge or the memories. So in time living stories will be gathered here, houses in Paide and all the town will be "readable".

"Majalood" or "House stories" is a project of Association Weissenstein “House stories of Paide”, what is 2015. financed by the Ministry of Culture in 2015 “through the program "Heritage development"”.

Historical data about the houses is provided by the Museum of Järva County (some of the texts are taken from previous joint project) and by Association Weissenstein. Data about protected parts of old houses comes from Paide municipality.
